EU-weite Petition

Full Self-Driving for Europe

The EU loses approximately 20,400 lives on its roads every year. Full Self-Driving, already deployed to millions of drivers in North America, has demonstrated lower collision rates than human drivers. Every month of regulatory delay has a human cost. Demand a clear, evidence-based approval roadmap from the European Commission + UN-ECE WP.29.

We, the undersigned citizens and residents of the European Union, call on European regulators to approve Tesla's Full Self-Driving (Supervised) system for use on public roads across the EU without further undue delay. We recognise that road safety is paramount. We are not asking regulators to skip safety checks. We are asking that the approval process be transparent, proportionate, evidence-based, and completed with the urgency that lives on our roads demand. Specifically, we call on EU institutions and national authorities to: 1. Publish a clear, public roadmap with concrete milestones and target dates for the UN-ECE R157 amendments required to permit FSD-class systems in the EU. 2. Accept real-world data gathered in North America and other markets as legitimate safety evidence, subject to independent verification. 3. Harmonise approval across Member States so that one EU-wide type approval is sufficient, rather than requiring 27 separate national approvals. 4. Engage directly and publicly with Tesla and other manufacturers developing equivalent systems, and publish meeting minutes and correspondence. 5. Report progress quarterly so European citizens can see concrete movement rather than indefinite deliberation. European citizens deserve access to the same life-saving technology available elsewhere. Every day of delay has a human cost. We call on our regulators to act with the urgency this issue demands.
